Midwest City Municipal Court is a Court NOT of Record. No court reporter takes down proceedings. If you appeal, the case goes to Oklahoma County District Court for a new trial from scratch. You must file the appeal within 30 days. The court has strict rules for courtroom behavior. Only the defendant, witnesses, and their attorney are allowed in the courtroom. Others must wait in the courtyard area. Cell phones must be turned off or on silent, and the court will confiscate phones that ring during proceedings.
The Midwest City Municipal Court has a strict dress code. Shorts, flip-flops, tank tops, and hats are not allowed. Ripped jeans and pajamas will get you turned away. Religious head coverings are the one exception for hats. If you show up out of dress code, staff may ask you to leave and come back on a new court date.
